I'm Back!

Wow, it has been a long time. I keep thinking "I need to get back into my blog" And it never happens. It's been a very busy last year and a half. I had some medical things going on that took up the majority of my time. We also bought a house! I think things have calmed down though and I'm really excited to start posting again. My love of makeup hasn't changed, that's for sure! I'm always excited to try new things and different brands. I've fallen in love with Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown so I'll have some new things to share. I still love MAC but it's not my main addiction anymore. However, one of my next posts will be a mac haul, but I have a Bobbi Brown one as well ;)

"Wear Purple" EOTD

I meant to get this up sooner, as always :-/ But I did this look last week.. for this reason. I'm sure everyone heard about it, it was all over facebook.

Please ignore my eyebrows in this first pic! :-O

Bonus pics with little miss Nighthawk!

Note: These pics were taken around midnight and I'm still trying to find where the best place in my apartment is to take pictures at night. I think these show the colors pretty well but most I took were very washed out.

ELF at Target haul!

I was so excited to see ELF at Target. I've known about the brand for a couple years but never ordered anything because I don't really like to order from brands online that I'm not familiar with. I'm actually quite impressed though and now I probably will make an order online because there wasn't a whole lot of selection in the store. But I'll show you what I got and what I think so far! (This all cost $18)
Four singe eyeshadows (Ivory, Moondust, Mocha, Dusk), Compact, Makeup wipes, Complexion brush, Eyeshadow brush, Eyeshadow "C" Brush, Lip Stain (Heart breaker)
Eyeshadows - These are extremely pigmented! I'm very impressed with that, but they are quite soft so they might have a good amount of fallout, but I'll find out tomorrow! I bought similar colors to what I wear every day so I plan on using them tomorrow. I love that they come in pan form and the compact is nice too. It doesn't feel like it should have only cost $1. It feels sturdier than my mac 4 eyeshadow quad and it also has a mirrow which mac's doesn't. & on a side note, mac eyeshadows fit nicely into this compact as well.
I haven't used these brushes yet so I can't talk about them too much but they do seem to be high quality. The two black handles brushes were $3 each and the white was $1. The black eyeshadow brush in particular seems very nice. I used the white one for the swatches and it pics up a good amount of eyeshadow and all the brushes are very soft. I think I'm going to like them a lot.
The lipstain was $3, the color is called "Heart Breaker" and it reminds me a lot of a dupe I have for NARS Orgasm lipgloss. It's a peachy-nude with a tiny bit of gold shimmer. It's the lipstain on one side and a clear gloss on the other.
Makeup wipes were $3 and I got those just because I've been trying different brands and they all seems to be the same, these are the cheapest I've seen so if they're good it will save me a little bit of money. However, they only have 20 wipes where as most have 28 or 30 but for half the price I usually pay it's still a good deal. And I like the black package :)

Hope you found this helpful! And if any of you have ELF favorites, let me know what they are because I will probably be making an order from them soon!

So Sad! (Broken eyeshadow)

I did a cut crease look today, I'll be posting pics of that soon. But after I was done I was gathering everything I used today to take a pic and I dropped my "Blue My Mind" Mineralize eyeshadow. And of course it broke! But how it broke is kind of cool lol

This is the first Makeup item I have broken but I know it's happened to a lot of other people..
Have you broken anything? Did you replace it?

I don't think I will replace this.. Even if I could still find it, or see it at a CCO eventually. I have similar colors and was never happy with the lightest blue color (very chalky) so it's not worth it to me to replace it.

MAC Venomous Villains & quick review

I got a few things from the Venomous Villains collection. I went back and forth on this a lot. When I first heard about it back in July I think it was, maybe August.. I was so excited, thought I was going to want EVERYTHING and would go broke! Then once Temptalia had more pictures, swatches and descriptions up I was like "meh, there's nothing I can't like without." I knew I would get Innocence, Beware! Lipstick though, light pinky-nudes are what I wear every day and they're just my go-to colors. Plus it's a cremesheen which is probably my favorite finish of MAC lipstick. & I love the name :-D
Then I saw a couple haul videos from people who went to the *I'm drawing a blank on what it's called* - Where you get to go buy stuff before the actual release date.. umm.. whatever. So after watching a couple of those, especially MakeupByTiffanyD's and I thought "I need some more purple in my life, that Maleficent collection looks awesome!" And it just so happened I was home sick from work when it became available online.. So yeah anyway, long story short.. This is what I got & What I think of it.

L to R
Briar Rose Beauty Powder - Have only used it once, not much to say about it.. It's pretty, it's a beauty powder so it's very sheer.
Innocence, Beware! Lipstick - LOVE! It is similar to Hue as other blogs have said but it's better, I think it's more wearable. When I have a tan and wear hue it's not as flattering. This is a little more pink, less nude than hue. It's also more pigmented and glossier/creamier.
Hot House Lipglass - Have not worn this yet.. Complete impulse buy when I went to the MAC store. (wasn't part of my original order online)
Violetta Lipstick - GORGEOUS! It's the first real purple lipstick I've owned. It's more fuchsia on the lips than purple. I love it, I've worn it around the house but I don't know what eye makeup to wear with it to make it out-in-public wearable. Still love it though. And it is a pro color so you can always get it, just not in the special packaging.
Revenge is Sweet Lipglass X2 - Loved it so much I got a backup. I adore this. It's by far my favorite thing from this and any recent collection from MAC. It looks beautiful on it's own, but when you pair it with a light pink lipstick it's amazing. It transforms it into hot pink. It's just amazing. If they still had it at my MAC store I'd be temped to buy another one. But they're sold out. Also, I love that it has no shimmer!
Vainglorious Eyeshadow - Not impressed! Actually considering returning it.. And I very very rarely return things. It looks like a beautiful burgundy/cranberry-ish color in the pan. When I put it on, it looks like a muddy dark mess. Also, it claims to be a frost. When I got it in the mail and opened it I was like "Wait I thought this was a frost".. flipped it over.. "hhmm it says it's a frost.. doesn't look like it" Yeah! I don't know how they're considering this eyeshadow a frost finish. I don't know how to explain the finish. It's not matte but it is the same consistency as their matte eye shadows with a little shimmer, if that makes sense. It's basically a failure in every way possible.
